ATPL

To be a pilot with passion... A childhood dream, a dream job! Many people have the dream to see the world through the bird’s eye view…

Motivation and willingness to learn assure you exactly this opportunity… in a cockpit of an airline. With a training as a line operation-pilot (ATPL) you are qualified to work after you have successfully completed your exam, worldwide as an airline pilot for an airline.

The way to get there is not as simple as it seems… a prospective pilot is expected to have comprehensive knowledge in Math, Physics and English as well as certain engineering understandings. Moreover, they need good perception, physical and psychological resilience as well as personality and ability to work in a team.

There are different possibilities to become educated as an airline pilot. The classical way is an application at an airline with a following, multi-level assessment-centre. The wide tests and psychological surveys do not fit with everybody, so that a clear success rate is evident. This doesn’t mean that you are not appropriate for that profession. It is rather the fact that one doesn’t fit in the company’s expectations about their future pilots.

At this point, the second possibility is:  through a private, Aeronautical Authority approved aviation school. In contrast to commercial education or academic studies, one has to finance the training as a pilot by themselves. The company Albatros is specialised on that and offers a customised financing for the training. These costs can be claimed as a tax deduction.

If the modular approach (PPL – CPL – IR – ATPL) is too complex, one can use the new training concept "Multi-Crew Pilot Licence" (MPL), which is more focused on the task of a two-person-cockpit and therefore preparing the pilot trainee more specifically for their job as an airline pilot.
