Tag der offenen Tür bei Cockpit4uAround 60 prospective pilots, business partners and visitors from Germany and abroad joined the open day of Cockpit4u on the 6th of March 2010 in Berlin-Schoenefeld.

The team of Stefan Heuss and Dennis Pilz presented a varied and exciting program to the visitors. After the opening the latest and most interesting developments in aviation business were shown as well as the workaday life of a pilot. Furthermore the innovative training "Multi Pilot License", a new way to obtain the pilot license, was extensively discussed by the audience, in the long term probably a new field of Cockpit4u. The presentations of the Airbus A380 and the pilot from the perspective of the airline Germania were another highlight for all visitors.

Most of the guests used the break among the presentations to discover the training equipment of Cockpit4u. Beside the maintenance flight training device (MFTD) which is normally used in the ground course and appeals most to the audience, all other work places were utilized too. Chief Flight Instructor Ludwig Steg had a lot of work and answered all questions detailed. With the computer based training (CBT) and flight management system (FMS) everybody got the opportunity to get familiar with the systems and procedures of Airbus and Boeing. Another eye-catcher was certainly a working station with all documents and maps a trainee receives at Cockpit4u during his type rating. The structured work in the organisation and the training process is the result of ISO 9001 and were shown during the presentation about quality management.

Many visitors used the opportunity to visit the simulator centre. The majority took the advantage of a guided tour to see full flight simulators like A310, A320, B737, B777 and CRJ. For everyone who always were interested to fly an Airbus A380, Cockpit4u had prepared a MS flight simulator.

During workshops in the afternoon the instructors gave practical insight in the systems of Airbus and Boeing as well as modern performance calculation of aircrafts. Fascinating demonstrations posed a lot of questions by the visitors which were answered by instructors and trainees.
